Song for today’s stormy morning: Bon Iver, Towers
1/5/2012
Unexpected celebrity edition!
Long before my alarm went off on this cold, sunny day, I was awakened by an inordinate amount of loud cheers from outside. However I couldn’t be bothered to crawl out from my warm bed to check it out before I had to get up so I just kept sleeping for the time being. Once my alarm did go off though, I peered out my window and discovered that So You Think You Can Dance auditions were being held at the Fox that day!
The line wrapped all the way around the block. The best part of it was that small circles kept forming and those in line would trade off dancing in the middle (you can see the main one in the picture of the line)- it was the best free entertainment. They were all ridiculously talented.
After eating my breakfast standing by the window and watching them, I hit the street to walk to work. And just as I was passing by the front of the Fox, who else but Cat Deeley pops out with a megaphone and asks in that lovely British accent “ATLANTA! Is the next great dancer here?” Everyone cheered, and the next group sprinted in. It was awesome. Sorry the photo isn’t better though, I didn’t stop walking while I was snapping pictures.
So that was the exciting, slightly star-studded start to January 5th!
Good morning all. Here, have a taste of what was playing in my head when I woke up this morning.

I was here, and it was awesome. I will never cease to be jealous of Annie’s kickass guitar playing.
