Had a lovely day dashing around town with my mom who was visiting me for the day. First we voted in the second round of the Finnish presidential elections (here’s your fun fact of the day- the Finnish elections go to a second round automatically if one candidate doesn’t get more than 50% of the votes. So even if there is a clear winner, the second round has to happen if they didn’t make it above 50%). Then had a delicious lunch at the Mediterranean Bakery, followed by a few other errands to Target and the like.
Later mon copain drove into town, and then a surprise visit from a few Athens friends made this particular Friday pretty unbeatable. Even if I thought we were about to be mugged in the parking deck before realizing it was just those beautiful and efficient friends of ours running excitedly toward us.
So far, starting at 8 AM, I’ve heard:
-Yelling.
-Laughing.
